Northside’s boys dropped a pair of games this weekend at the Battle on Barrow Road held at Little Rock Parkview.

On Saturday, a day after falling 73-57 to Little Rock Mills, the Grizzlies were edged in overtime, 58-56, by Memphis A.S.E. in the third-place game. Northside (1-2) hit a basket at the end of overtime to apparently force a second overtime, but officials waved it off as they ruled that it came right after the buzzer sounded.

Senior guard Isaiah Joe led the Grizzlies with 19 points, going 7-of-15 from the field and 4-of-8 from 3-point range. He also had five assists, four rebounds and a steal.

Kentrell Jacobs added 14 points with four 3's and Javion Releford 10 points for Northside, which led 31-24 at halftime and was up 47-41 midway through the fourth quarter.

In Friday’s loss to Mills, Joe had 20 points on 7-of-13 field goals. He also hit three 3's. Jacobs added 13 points and had three 3's as well, while Jaylin Williams had seven rebounds and seven blocked shots.

Northside will travel to Arlington, Texas, to compete in a tournament beginning this Thursday.
