Northside’s soccer teams posted a sweep on the road at North Little Rock in 7A-Central play Wednesday.

The Lady Bears won on penalty kicks, 3-2, after the score was tied at 2-all at the end of regulation. It was the second conference win for Northside (2-3 in 7A-Central), which won just one conference game all of last season.

Katelyn Gilkey and Makaela Henry had the goals in regulation for the Lady Bears.

Then in the boys game, Northside rolled past NLR, 7-0, behind two goals from Jason Mendoza. The Grizzlies also got goals from Ricky Iturriaga, Luis Mendez, Luis Paredes, Jarvin Nieto and Christian Chavez.

Northside also improved to 4-1 in conference play, and it also sets up a big 7A-Central showdown at home today against Cabot, which is currently in first place in the conference.

The boys game will be played first at Mayo-Thompson Stadium approximately 5:15 p.m., followed by the girls.
